The movie was a laugh-riot with sincere performances from each member of the mammoth starcast. Manje Bistre went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of all times. Consequently, the makers have announced it’s sequel, Manje Bistre 2 which would be released in 2019.

After the critically acclaimed Shareek, Navaniat Singh and Jimmy Sheirgill joined hands once again for Jindua. The movie went on to become one of the best romantic movies of 2017 and was widely appreciated. What also went in favour of Jindua was the presence of Neeru Bajwa and Sargun Mehta, who both got meaty roles and did full justice to it. The love story of Saghi and Karma is still fresh in viewer’s minds.

Super Singh (16th May, 2017)

Diljit Dosanjh’a ambitious project with Anurag Singh ‘launched’ in May this year. After a series of blockbusters, the duo came together for Punjab’s first superhero flick.  Although the film met with mixed response, but it got brownie points for the gutsy step to make a Punjabi film based on superhero concept and also the message that the film sent across.

Lahoriye (12th May, 2017)

With Lahoriye, Amrinder Gill -Sargun Mehta -Amberdeep Singh  took love beyond borders. Although an Indo-Pak based movie, the makers did not depict riots, mayhem and human sufferings, instead portrayed love between two friends and two couples of these nations. The innocent love story where the lead couple did not speak to each other for most part of the movie, won the cinemagoers heart.

Rabb Da Radio (31st March, 2017)

Tarsem Jassar, who has a huge fan following amongst the youth of Punjab, debuted with Rabb Da Radio. The love story between Tarsem and Simi had old world charm as letters were used as a medium to convey feelings for each other. The movie had a decent opening majorly because of the stardom of Tarsem Jassar, but got word of mouth praise for the wonderful performances of  Simi Chahal and Mandy Takhar.
